Face Wrinkle

Wake up.  Look at yourself in the mirror.  It shows you exactly what you have on your face.  What do you see?

THIS?

No Face Wrinkle

Darn.  That tiny face wrinkle between the eyebrows has gotten somewhat deeper.  You need to do something about it before people say you look old.

Seriously, though, most of us will sooner or later notice either on ourselves or on our friends and acquaintances the signs of ageing, exposure to the elements, or overusage of facial muscles.  Thus you will see

These are but a few of the face wrinkles that we will find as we age.
What is the actual mechanism behind the formation of wrinkles?

There actually are two major types of wrinkles -
Dynamic Wrinkles:  Due to excessive muscle activity, usually the muscles of facial expression.  These wrinkles tend to disappear when you relax your facial muscles.  The most common of these dynamic wrinkles are the frown lines, the forehead wrinkles, and the eye wrinkles (or crows feet).   However if the excessive muscle activity is carried on for too long, these do not disappear completely on relaxation, and are thus called static wrinkles.  Just imagine a piece of paper folded and opened repeatedly.  Ultimately the fold becomes permanent.
Static Wrinkles:  These are formed either by chronic excessive muscle activity or are due to the effects of age and gravity, with a loss of subcutaneous fat.  Examples of static wrinkles are the nasolabial folds, which are the deep grooves running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

So what does one do to eliminate these wrinkles?
There are a few major ways of wrinkles treatment.  The first, most obvious way is to use an agent to relax the muscles that cause the face wrinkles.  The most popular agent is Botox, commonly referred to as Botax or Botx, which is the purified toxin of a particular bacteria Clostridium botulinum type A.  This is useful in the treatment of dynamic wrinkles.
Static face wrinkles are treated with face fillers if they are mild.  Face fillers are essentially safe non-toxic semi-gel like substances that are injected into the skin under the facial wrinkle to push up the wrinkle so it flattens out or disappears.  More severe or deeper face wrinkles can be corrected by anti-gravity measures such as thread lifts or face lifts (more about those in other posts).
